Elm Street Reconstruction Project

**The Main & Elm Street intersection will re-open to east-west traffic only at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 25th. (Please note that north-south access will remain closed for the remainder of the project.)**

**INTERSECTION CLOSURE**
Please note that the Lincoln & Elm Street intersection will be closed on Saturday, June 3rd from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM for sanitary sewer work.

Plan completion of Cherry to Main, including the opening of the Main & Elm intersection, by Mid-June
Completion
of remaining blocks, Lincoln to Cherry and Main to Washington, by end of
August 2017 (before start of school year)

Scheduled Work for Weeks of 6/19 & 6/26
  • Finish water main and services; Lincoln to Central
  • Continue with snowmelt and concrete base from Cherry to Main
  • Continue brick paver installation south of Main
  • Surface course HMA north of Main
Scheduled Work for Weeks of 6/19 and 6/26
  • Continue installation of brick pavers south of Main Street
  • Installation of landscaping in block between Cherry Ave and Main Ave - particularly in the park region across from City Hall
  • Water main/service work on block between Lincoln Ave and Central Ave.  Utility work is scheduled for the week of 6/26.
Sidewalks will remain in place for several more days from Cherry to Washington and remain in Lincoln for several weeks. This schedule is tentative and subject to change day to day.

Force Main Construction & Re-Paving of Roosevelt, Oak & Ottawa Streets 



Portions of Roosevelt, Oak & Ottawa Streets will be impacted with construction and re-paving as a result of a force main construction project that will connect Holland Township with the City of Zeeland's expanded Clean Water Plant. The expansion of the plant and the connection with Holland Township is projected to be completed in August 2017. Below are the tentative construction & re-paving dates:

Ottawa Street: Roosevelt to Oak and Oak Street: Ottawa to State - May 8, 2017 to May 19, 2017
Roosevelt Avenue: 100th to Ottawa and State Street Connection - June 12, 2017 to July 14, 2017
State Street: Work will likely take place between July 14-July 21, 2017. Thru traffic to be detoured to Centennial Street with access maintained to residents and businesses in the immediate area. The area to be torn up and repaved is limited to Oak/State intersection only. While contractor may be working near intersection in Oak, State Street will not be closed until after school is out.

Riley Street Mill & Resurface Project


Riley Street (from State Street to Fairview Road) / Mill & Resurface
Spring / Summer - This project is slated to begin on June 13, 2017 with completion projected for July 29, 2017. 
Milling & Paving - During this period, traffic will be shifted to one-half of the roadway and maintained with flaggers. This operation should last no longer than 5-7 days. Other work (curb & gutter, sidewalk ramps, structure adjustments, etc.) will be done under single lane closures with two-way traffic maintained.

The following streets/intersection will be maintained with flaggers and/or law enforcement officers when necessary while they are within the current work zone:
  • Case Karsten Drive
  • North Centennial Street
  • Fairview Road
  • 96th Avenue/North State Street
The following streets may be utilized as truck routes:
  • North State Street
  • 96th Avenue
  • Roosevelt Avenue
  • Fairview Road
  • East Washington Avenue
