The Finance Department is responsible for all financial transactions, accounting and financial reporting. These functions include tax billing, special assessments, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, debt management, risk management, budgeting and investing City funds.
Accounting staff prepares the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Zeeland for its CAFR every year since 1988!
